The last activity of the first phase of the project WEL.COME, Boot Camp was held in the period from November 15 to November 18, 2021, at the Blanka Hotel on Vlašić. During the Boot Camp, representatives of non-governmental organizations created their business plans using the knowledge gained during the first three trainings. During the first day of the Boot Camp, participants had the opportunity to hear about the basics of a business plan, product and service description, market research as well as competition. During the second day, the participants received the necessary knowledge and information from the trainers about the legal and financial aspects of a business, while the last part of the Boot Camp was left for the practical writing of the business plan.
Naida Stupar, a member of the Student Support Office, who wants to open her own physiotherapy practice in the future and thus contribute to the professional rehabilitation and inclusion of people with disabilities, says: “This Boot Camp was very useful for me, we have learned a lot of new things, and we learned many things that I have not had the opportunity to encounter so far. As for my personal business plan, I am very satisfied with the fact that the coach helped me to develop some things that were not clear to me, and I expect that this will be done successfully in the coming period. "
Haris Kanlić, a representative of company Greens, a social business for the cultivation and sale of micro-vegetables and herbs, owned by the organization ProReha, which deals with rehabilitation, employment, and mediation in the employment of people with disabilities, says: “I am very pleased with the Boot Camp and the way it was organized. It contributed to the development of the idea and the improvement of the very way of starting a business idea. I am also pleased that we have managed to combine all parts of social entrepreneurship while focusing on the very cost-effectiveness of the business idea".
For the continuation of the project, Harris says: "I expect that our business plan will satisfy the judges for selecting the top 5 and that we will be able to continue with further education in order to perfect the business idea and finally get a grant that will mean a lot to us in this initial phase of our business idea."
Almir Paočić, director of the Center for Education and Training, worked with representatives of non-governmental organizations on the development of their business plans during the Boot Camp. Almir spoke about the Boot Camp itself: “Boot camp is something great that has emerged as a continuation of some efforts of the civil sector to help develop entrepreneurial ventures of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is something that should definitely be supported. Establishing entrepreneurial ventures is a concept of developing the economy, and from that side, I sincerely hope that these young people who are currently at the Boot Camp will really develop their business ventures regardless of the financial support they will receive. As for the enthusiasm of the participants and the quality of their business ideas in general, I can say that all business ideas are extremely high quality, extremely creative, and I hope that they were created as a product of some own thinking, or some own research and previous experiences, so if these participants really persist in the development of their business ideas, I hope that in the next few years we will have at least a dozen new companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with at least twenty employees".
After the Boot Camp, the second phase of the project awaits us, which will include the five best, previously developed business ideas and their accompanying plans. In the second phase of the project, representatives of non-governmental organizations will have an internship in local companies working in the same or similar field of work, as well as a study visit to Italy.
The Wel.Come project promotes the culture of the social economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an essential element of society and its role in local development and improving the position of people in society, especially vulnerable categories. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project is implemented by Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina, Youth for Peace, and the University of Sarajevo - Student Support Office (UPS!), and is implemented with the financial support of the Province of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia.
