Regional Conference for GNRC coordinators from Europe was held in Sarajevo in the period from 6th to 8th June. The goal of this meeting was to gather active members of the Network from all over the Europe at one place where they would exchange experience related to implementation of their activities and talk about future plans. Coordinators and active individuals from the region and other countries all over Europe had a chance to meet with the Board of Directors which is situated in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali, Secretary General, Mohammad Belall Maudarbux, Program Manager and Miriam Rubino, Youth Program Coordinator. The board of GNRC gathered in one place and shared their vision for active members in Europe. Some of the topics were discussions on current projects and campaigns: "Ethics Education, "Day of Prayer for Children" and "End Child Poverty". Most of the activities of the Network will be a part of these campaigns with a common goal - to promote children's rights and fight poverty.
Youth for Peace hosted this year's conference for young people from every corner of the World. During this Conference, participants had an opportunity to attend Sarajevo Peace Event which was held at the same time. Every day members had an option to chose some of many workshops which were offered to them and which were closely related to the topics with which members of GNRC Network are concerned with.
On June 6th, Youth for Peace with GNRC Youth volunteers from BIH organized and conducted a workshop during the international Sarajevo Peace Event. The workshop, titled "Peace begins with Me", took place at the Hotel Grand in Sarajevo, and highlighted Arigatou International's initiatives, the work of the GNRC around the world, as well as welcomed visitors from international organizations for experiential reflections on peace building. It was also a great opportunity for networking and meeting like-minded organizations and individuals.
The workshop was divided into four 'stations', with a presentation to getting acquainted with the work of the GNRC and the other initiaves of AI, a Mandala and meditative section, a discussions and brainstorming session, and other hands-on activities such as creating inspiring messages within paper cranes that adorned a Peace wall.
32 young Christians, Jews, Muslims and Sikhs, from different European countries, took part in a week long intercultural interfaith seminar "Bridging our differences. Learning skills of intercultural dialogue together!" 31 March – 6 April 2014 in Wroclaw, Poland. The seminar was organized by World Students Christian Federation – Europe (WSCF-E) and Religions for Peace, European Interfaith Youth Network (RfP, EYN).
The aim of the seminar was to help young faith leaders to develop skills in communication across cultural divides and being able to engage in dialogue with people of different cultural or religious backgrounds. Seminar opened with interfaith prayers led by Daniela Malec – RfP EIYN Consultant, with fours participants representing different religion, presenting their welcome prayers of welcoming the other in accordance with their respective faith. First full day of the seminar was dedicated to group building sessions led by Thomas Gilet – Co-Coordinator of International Youth Committee of RfP.
