Thanks to the support of the European Union, through the IPA II Cross-border Cooperation Program Bosnia and Herzegovina - Montenegro, the implementation of the POWER project has begun: Creating new opportunities for work, employment and vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The POWER project, implemented by Caritas BiH with partner organizations, aims to create new employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Representatives of public institutions, non-governmental organizations, associations of persons with disabilities and representatives of partner organizations gathered at the Info Session held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Archdiocesan Center for Youth Pastoral "John Paul II." Mr. Vannini emphasized the following: “This project responds to common needs in the cross-border territory of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is to increase employment opportunities and work inclusion of persons with disabilities, thus contributing to the promotion of sustainable development in the cross-border area. This project is funded by the Cross-border Co-operation Program between BiH and Montenegro for the period 2014-2020. millions of euros for projects related to the promotion of employment opportunities, tourism, cultural and natural heritage, as well as environmental protection ”- said Mr. Vannini.
The participants of the info session exchanged experiences and made concrete proposals for quality realization of project activities. Emphasis is placed on developing new, professional curricula for the education of persons with disabilities. The project will develop four new curricula for training adults with disabilities, as well as four curricula for informal training that will enhance the professional competencies of persons with disabilities. The project also envisaged the creation of an interactive website that will find all relevant information on the employment of persons with disabilities. Participants in the info session also discussed the fair for the employment of persons with disabilities, opportunities for internships in companies and organizations, as well as measures to be implemented through the public system to facilitate and speed up the hiring process.
The project P.O.W.E.R. is funded by the European Union, through the IPA II Cross-border Co-operation Program Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro. The total value of the project is EUR 459,776, of which the European Union is financing EUR 390,800. The project is implemented by Caritas of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with partners from BiH and Montenegro: Archdiocesan Center for Youth Pastoral Ivan Paul II., Association of Parents and Children with Special Needs Smile Smile, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, Caritas Barske the Archdiocese, the Association of Paraplegics Bar and the Business Start-up Center in Bar.
