High school students from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina have attended seminar organized by Youth for Peace, which have been held in Sarajevo from 8th to 11th of December 2016. This was an opportunity for participants to develop mutual dialogue in order to accept diversity, respect others’ opinions and strengthen personal attitudes, as well as to learn about the cultural sights and religious objects of the capital city.
Half a year after the first seminar within the project "Youth in BH Society", YfP has brought together young people from different parts of BiH. Because of great interest and 140 applications for the seminar, the organizers decided to accept twice as many participants than it was planned, so this time 70 young people have gathered and worked in two working groups through the seminar.
The active four days of the seminar gave participants the opportunity to meet each other through interactive workshops, moderated by YfP educators. They learned and talked about non-violent communication, benefits and curiosities that it brings, prejudices and stereotypes which very often lead to discrimination, the phenomenon omnipresent in bh society.
Group of young people have not been afraid to talk about personal experiences from their lives, to say loudly what they like and what they do not like in their society. It was interesting how many of them are aware of the problems that exist, but also of those that are constantly created to make life difficult.
Besides the educational part, youth have visited four religious sites in Sarajevo, some of them for the first time entered in religious sites. After visiting religious sites, they had fun exploring Sarajevo. Finally, every moment of free time youth was taking to socialize, have fun, talk and live happily, without any problems. It is very easy to achieve, isn't it?
