On Monday, 28th November 2016 within the project „Youth in BH society“ educators of Youth for Peace have organized one-day-long workshops in Bijela near Brčko as well as in high school „Fra Martin Nedić“ in Orašje. Workshops' participants were students of finale grade elementary school from Bijela, and high school students from Orašje, respectively. 62 of them had a chance to learn and some of them to renew what they know about of stereotypes and prejudices.
Stereotypes which often lead to discrimination and marginalization of individuals or certain groups exist among younger population. In our country it is very important to raise awareness, share information and findings about how, why and when it comes to them and what we need to do to stop them or their consequences.
Students had a chance to go through presentation, interesting exercises and discussion and get the basic about spotting and fight against prejudices in school, family, on the street, and everyday life. Thanks to personal examples and experience from everyday life, together with educators from Youth for Peace they have seen how is really important to do small but important steps against negative consequences of stereotypes, primarily among young people.
