On 3rd November 2016 a workshop „Youth, prejudices and stereotypes“ took place in Bosanski Petrovac. It was 30 youth aged from 16 to 18. For some of participants this was first time to hear something about this topic in a different and more interesting way. The aim of the interactive workshop is that youth from community learn more about stereotypes and prejudices. These and similar issues are very present in society, very often among the younger population. This approach to the problem proved to be very effective and useful for youth. Few days later Youth for Peace with the same workshop has visited Gračanica.
The workshop is made up of a presentation and exercises thus it helps participants to open their minds, broaden their horizons and learn how to recognize a problem in everyday life, at home, in school, on the street in society.
At the end, educators have started short discussion with their participants. This part is very useful considering that youth after receiving information and examples have realized themselves as subjects of discrimination, either consciously or unconsciously, and also as those who discriminate. Successfully realized workshops were a great introduction to the continuation of our activities in other cities in BiH.
